Makin' Groceries!!

   Only my Louisiana natives will understand this title lol.  For you non-Louisianans, “Makin Groceries” is simply going grocery shopping lol.  Now on with the rant. First off, I want to apologize to Big Red (moms) for every time I tried to add something extra to the buggy.  Young Trellie did not realize that every item added that was not on the list makes the final cost $50 more 🤯.  I cannot talk about my hatred for adulthood and not include the grocery bill.  Why does weekly grocery shopping cost so much?  Why can't everyone get food stamps? Why is everything that is "better" for you more expensive? I utterly understand now why I had to put back whatever random article I picked up lol. That is not my only issue with “Makin’ Groceries” either lol.  Guys how often does your lady send you to the store and somehow, we manage to get the wrong item 😕.  I now require a photo whenever I go to the store alone lol.  There are rules one must follow whenever you go grocery shopping too.  Rule #1 never go hungry 😋.  You will mess around and buy the entire store if you do.  Trust me lol; I have done it. Rule #2 make a list before making the store run. Rule #3 ONLY GET WHAT IS ON THE LIST!!! Rule #4 do not forget to bring the coupons lol (never think you are too high class to save some coins💰💰 lol). If you follow these four rules, your shopping experience will be so much better lol.  I HATE IT HERE!!!!

  Bonus: Fellas make sure to throw a few extra items in the cart when the lady is not looking lol. We are grown now so live it up lol!!

Today’s brief rant will be about "Savings" lol. FYI, the image above may or may not be my wife and I daily discussion lol.  Apparently, I am still not okay with saving 🤷. Growing up we just had to put change in a piggybank, and it was no pressure lol.  In Adulthood, you really must plan ahead with savings.  You always have to consider a rainy-day ☔situation smh. What if I get sick? What if my car needs major work?  What if I am laid off? Can my savings account cover it? It is incredibly stressful 😟 lol.  I wish I could just break a piggybank, and everything would work itself out like the childhood days.  News flash it did not work itself out lol; someone threw a “lil money” in there to help you out.  I just wish they could do the same for us in adulthood lol.  If you are reading this and want to know some tips for savings, my first thing to tell you is to get educated.  The misses and I took a DFREE course and it really opened my eyes.  Another good tip is writing down all your expenses for the month. This really helps you focus on the wants & needs!!! I found out I had way too many wants and minimal needs lol.  Saving has been much simpler since then lol. I STILL HATE IT HERE!!  

P.S: One can never have too many savings lol.  I do find that it makes things less complex if you designate a savings for things (ex. Emergency fund, car fund, health fund, shoe collection fund🤷, etc.) !!

New Year, Same Me!!!

 

Every year around this time, we have this “Coming to Jesus” moment where we want to reinvent ourselves for the new year: #NewYearNewMe. However, after January it is noticeably clear that we are in fact still the same person from the year before and years before that lol (just kidding).  At what age, do we start this never ending process?  Because I know for a fact Young Trellie was not worried about any New Year’s Resolutions lol.  I was more focused on firing all my firecrackers 🧨and dreading the return to school 🤷.  I guess in Adulthood, we need to reinvent the wheel.  The New Year can bring about changes, but do not try to change yourself just because.  Also, do not fear if December comes along and you are not where you wanted to be.  Start in December and continue it into the next year.  We try to put too much stress in these “Resolutions” or "Goals" and need to put more into the planning.  I started writing my resolutions/goals down and planning how to attack them each year. (May or may not have been an idea from the wifey🤣🤣)  Surprisingly, I have begun to see better results this way lol. You do not have to think big for a goal either. A goal can be whatever you want it to be.  Some people want to lose or gain weight.  Some want to pay off debt.  Some want to get their own place.  The options are limitless.  For me, I hope to keep bringing you great topics all year long lol.  Just because it is 2021 does not mean my feelings have changed; I still HATE IT HERE!!!  Happy New Year Everyone!  Let us get to planning and not changing for 2021 lol.
