Are We There Yet?

Taking road trips growing up was brutal!! Seconds seemed like minutes, minutes seemed like hours, and hours seemed like forever lol.  I can recall riding with my moms (that is right, I have three lol; I'll explain later 🤣) from Louisiana to Dallas and that trip always was a bummer lol. First off, there was nothing on I-20 to look at.  Secondly, we did not have all the gadgets these kids had these days to help pass the time.  So, we were stuck with radio/music, Gameboys (batteries were trash lol), and playing random car games. Let’s fast forward to adulthood and guess what?  It still sucks lol.  What Young Trellie did not appreciate is that even though the trip was brutal, we did not have to drive lol.  Somehow that key component went right over our heads lol. Do you know what is worst than a long road trip?  Having to actually drive that long trip lol.  There is no napping for the driver!  There is no daydreaming for the driver!  There is no playing around for the driver!! The driver must be focused at all times.  I think it is worst to drive these days then when our parents took us places though.  There are so many distractions inside these cars, and you must eliminate them all.  This is something I fail at miserably lol. Of course, now that I am older, I have options for traveling: planes, trains, & automobiles; however, all still take some type of time to get from point A to point B.  I was hoping someone could have created teleporting by now lol.  That would make traveling so much sweeter lol; someone needs to get with Steve Urkel so we can get this invention created lol. On that note, I still hate it here; however, the destination after traveling is always a great time.  Until it is time to return home smh lol.

P.S. – before I go, I thought it might be a great time to explain my three moms situation lol.  There is my TLady (Big Red) the mom that birth me.  There is my sis, the mom that helped raised me. Then there is my first cousin/aunt, the mom who always made sure I stayed active and kept me around with her kids.  Get it? Got it? Good lol.

Respect Your Elders!!

Growing up my parents were big on two things: (1) do not embarrass them in public and (2) always respect your elders.  Well one out of two is not bad huh 😂?  Because if you know me, then you know I am a clown 24/7 and I would embarrass them always lol.  However, I was always respectful to my elders.  You know the drill; “Yes sir/ma'am” or “No sir/ma'am” and never get in grown folks talks.  The problem is, the older I get and the more I start noticing things or “Smelling myself” like the grown ups say lol; it becomes extremely hard for me to even obey both rules instilled by my parents lol.  First off, the older I got the crazier I got, so I am quite sure I am embarrassing my parents daily; however, they still love me.  Now the respecting my elders one, that is a hard one these days.  I am in no way or form disrespectful but sometimes elders can be out of hand.  Is it just me, or do some (not all) elderly people feel like they are entitled?  Some (again not all lol) feel like they can just talk to anyone any kind of way because they are “old”.  I am sorry but that is not the case with me sir or madam lol.  Believe me, I understand that the elders need protecting and should be marveled; however, I cannot get down with being belittled along the way.   I feel like respect should go both ways though.  You know the saying?  “Do unto others, as they do until you”.  I like that one in conjunction with respecting my elders lol.  It just makes everything run smoothly to me.  Adulthood is a wild ride and I still hate it here too btw (by the way) lol.  On that note, I want to end this rant on this thought: Respect my elders? I respect whoever respects me, regardless of age 🤷 (mic drop).

No but really Trellie Trell loves and respects the older generation lol!!

Where's My Basket?

Easter Sunday! What does that mean to you?  As a child, it meant that we got Good Friday out of school lol.  If you grew up in a church home, it also meant a fresh church outfit in some bright colors lol.  The true sign Easter Sunday is here though is the colorful eggs for Easter egg hunt and the decorated baskets. For some reason you never got a basket for Easter, think mini-Christmas and Halloween combined lol. It came with candy and usually a nice toy or gadget lol. Can we talk about how the Easter candy tastes better than regular candy too?  I mean them Reese’s eggs be on point.  Okay, back on topic lol.  Do you know when I realized I was “An Adult”?  It is that Sunday morning I woke up on Easter and there was not a basket in sight!!  That one action alone began a ripple effect that I was not prepared for lol.  That ripple effect began my adulthood and I hate it lol. All I want to know is, “Where is My Basket?”   Of course, I understand the true meaning of this day, Resurrection Sunday.  However, can one know the truth and still want a basket lol? Random thought, what if the adults got together and had an Easter egg hunt with mini bottles and money inside them? That would be an epic event.  Let us plan one for 2022 lol.  Happy Easter everyone!  Oh, and I still hate it here!

Who Wants Superpowers?

First off, Happy New Year to everyone!  I know it has been a while! Did you miss me? No, okay then 🙂 lol.  Secondly, I need to give thanks...
