Dear Mamas, You Are Appreciated!!

Mom is probably the first word we all spoke as a toddler lol. If it was not, then I am sure it was in the first three lol.  I do not know about you, but mama has been a name I always called when I was growing up. Actually, I still call my lady to this day 🤷.  Whether it is for good or bad news.  Now if you read my previous posts, you would know that I had a wonderful stable of women (mothers) that raised me; they all deserve their flowers today! A mom’s job is never complete, and they never get to have a sick day, even when they really need it.  My mom better known as “Big Red” was already a pro at being a mom by the time I came along lol. At least that is what she thought 🤣lol.  I would like to think that I brought her some unusual challenges the first four did not lol. Besides, I could not get away with too much because my sis aka “Mom #2” did not play any games lol. You can get away with that when you are 14 years apart in age lol.  Young Trellie did not know any better. Growing up I loved being around my moms, they were my friends and biggest supporters.  I can recall a few times now that they were putting in countless hours to ensure I was able to take part in activities.  I did not realize how busy I was growing up with all my extra activities lol.  Let us fast forward to adulthood and I still feel the same way about these ladies.  I do not think there is anything they can ask, and I would not attempt to do.  After all, they are part of the reasons I am where I am today.  Moms should always be cherished! They endear a lot for their babies (side note: Red still call all of us her babies and I am the youngest at 33 lol).  The older I get, the more I realize that a mom is not just for the woman who birthed us.  Over the years, I have had a few ladies who did not birth me; however, they definitely helped in my upbringing. So, to all the moms, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends, etc. to all you wonderful women: YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!  Take sometime today and call or hug a mother figure.  Especially, during these crazy Covid times, anything can change!

P.S.  I still hate it here in adulthood 🙄lol, but I love 🥰 my mamas!!!

My Brother & Me!

If you were a big Nickelodeon fan like I was, then you would know exactly where this title came from lol.  Consider this post a bonus topic that came to me randomly this weekend lol.  I usually bash all things about adulthood that suck lol; however, this time I want to give flowers to my big brother.  Like the show my older brother and I were best friends and always fighting, if that makes sense lol.  I believe he was not ready to lose the title of being the baby anymore.  After all, he held that title for almost nine years and then I came along lol.  My brother and I had a special bond! Even though I have three other siblings, Polo was the only one I truly felt was my brother.  The older siblings’ kind of took on a more parental role in my life.  I would not dare talk back to them lol (once I did and did not end pretty fyi 😟). My big bro was very influential in my life; he taught me the ropes and was one of my role models growing up.  He is charming, he has a friendly personality, and he always been a fashion icon lol.  Those are just a few traits I have picked up from him; however, it is the sides no one ever saw that always stood out to me. Even at a young age, I could see what he was doing and made sure to follow his footsteps. I will not expose him too much but a couple things I always admired about him was: (1) he treated everyone the same & (2) when joking around he never brings in personal elements to hurt someone.  I do not even know if he knew I was watching but that has always been something I admired about him and wanted to duplicate.  Not to mention, he made sure I was always the freshest kid in daycare lol.  Whatever he did or wherever he went, you better believe I was right there 🤣. I even can recall one time he decided to go bald headed and this 5th or 6th grader decided to do the same thing lol.  Glad I do not have a funny shaped head lol.  Fast forward to adulthood and I am still the little brother just watching my bro and amazed at what he has accomplished.  Him, along with my parents and other siblings, are really the reason I am the way I am today: determined, hardworking, outgoing, and a jokester lol. One thing Trell always hated though was everyone telling me we looked alike lol.  I mean it is already bad enough we act alike now add clone to it lol.   Oh well, I have gotten over it over the years.  I mean there are worse people to look like 🤷lol!

It's Field Day!!

Let me paint you a picture, it is mid to late May.  All the coursework has been completed for the school year. All standardized testing has been done.  Grades are nearly in for the 4th 9 weeks or 6th 6 weeks (depends on your semester breakdown lol).  Only thing left to do for the school year is watch movies.  However, in elementary the school year cannot be complete until 1 or 2 things happen: Field Trip and/or Field Day!! I am fairly sure every school went somewhere in the spring semester to get the kids out of classes and took them to a place educational.  What I do not know, is if everyone got the chance to engage in what was by far the best day of the entire school year.  Field Day was a class versus class event that really gave me Olympic vibes lol.  It was for bragging rights and sometimes awards are given lol.  All year, you would hear people boast about how they were the fastest on the yard and now they had to prove it lol.  I never boasted on being the fastest; however, I always knew I was never the slowest 🤷.  This was the only day when I failed to remember we were even at school lol.  No rules, no books, no uniforms, just outside all day and playing games!!  Now let us fast forward to adulthood, where work is never completed.  Testing is never done because there is always something new to test in my field lol. Grades are never officially in because we are observed 24/7 year around.  Lastly, we get no day of fun (unless you take a vacation or holiday); however, we do get something just as meaningful: HAPPY HOUR!! Think for a moment as Happy Hour being the field day for adults lol.  The coworkers get together, may leave work a little early (shhhh😶), and compete on who is the best drinker lol.  I do not know about you but that sounds like a Field Day to me 😁.  Either way, I HATE IT HERE lol!!

Who Wants Superpowers?

First off, Happy New Year to everyone!  I know it has been a while! Did you miss me? No, okay then 🙂 lol.  Secondly, I need to give thanks...
