It's Field Day!!

Let me paint you a picture, it is mid to late May.  All the coursework has been completed for the school year. All standardized testing has been done.  Grades are nearly in for the 4^th 9 weeks or 6^th 6 weeks (depends on your semester breakdown lol).  Only thing left to do for the school year is watch movies.  However, in elementary the school year cannot be complete until 1 or 2 things happen: Field Trip and/or Field Day!! I am fairly sure every school went somewhere in the spring semester to get the kids out of classes and took them to a place educational.  What I do not know, is if everyone got the chance to engage in what was by far the best day of the entire school year.  Field Day was a class versus class event that really gave me Olympic vibes lol.  It was for bragging rights and sometimes awards are given lol.  All year, you would hear people boast about how they were the fastest on the yard and now they had to prove it lol.  I never boasted on being the fastest; however, I always knew I was never the slowest 🤷.  This was the only day when I failed to remember we were even at school lol.  No rules, no books, no uniforms, just outside all day and playing games!!  Now let us fast forward to adulthood, where work is never completed.  Testing is never done because there is always something new to test in my field lol. Grades are never officially in because we are observed 24/7 year around.  Lastly, we get no day of fun (unless you take a vacation or holiday); however, we do get something just as meaningful: HAPPY HOUR!! Think for a moment as Happy Hour being the field day for adults lol.  The coworkers get together, may leave work a little early (shhhh😶), and compete on who is the best drinker lol.  I do not know about you but that sounds like a Field Day to me 😁.  Either way, I HATE IT HERE lol!!
