I always hear people say: “The family doesn’t
get together anymore.” In actuality, that is a true statement; however, it is
our own fault because we are not continuing the traditions laid out before us. As a child growing up, my generation (millennials)
really did not have to do much. We were the
younger group; therefore, no responsibility was on us lol. Our hardest task was making sure we included "ma'am" or " sir" after yes and no when talking to someone older lol. All the
family events were fun for us because all we had to do was show up and play
all day lol. Even when we got hungry,
someone older typically fixed our plates to avoid any messes. Let me tell you, that is not the case anymore
these days lol. Now that we are older,
we have real responsibilities for events. Mine is usually setup and cleanup
crew ๐ lol. That means I must show up
earlier and leave later lol. I HATE IT
HERE!! We have to fix our own plates now
and typically after everyone else has eaten lol. Due to respect, we let our elders go first
and then the children must eat second smh; here we are getting the short end of
the stick lol. It sucks but it is the
rite of passage. If we want to continue
the events our parents and grandparents did, then it is up to the millennials to
step up to the plate. After all, we are not
the younger generation anymore lol. We,
The Millennials, are in our 20’s or 30’s now, so it is time we started taking
charge of things!!! I too am guilty of sitting back but I will make a greater
effort to get involved ๐. We
have a generation watching so let us make it count. I will hate it and it will be challenging ๐
but we can get it done!!

You made me TIRED reading this' ๐๐คฃ๐ซ
ReplyDeletelol how you think I felt typing it? The reality was hitting me lol.
DeleteThis is soo true. The older generation is tired and ready to pass the baton. I'm not ready to plan these family reunions though ๐ฉ
ReplyDeleteNope, I am no where near ready but I know our generation can handle it!!!
