As a kid the worst thing you can say is “I will
never be my parents”. You have just
jinxed yourself for life lol. If 8-year-old
Trellie knew then what he knows now, I would have just shut up. My parents had strict roles, mom was the
friend and pop the stern one. Moms
was the one I could joke with and charm into things. My father was rugged and tough lol. He made sure we worked hard, and he kept
order. To me he was mean, and I was not
going to be like that when I grew up.
What I didn’t understand then was he was working tired hours daily and
providing for the family. He didn’t have
time for jokes or games. Also, he had a
heart of gold!! Today at 32 years old, I
have picked up that similar stern personality, somewhat, lol. My wife always asks me, "why do I always mug people?" 😕. I apparently also got his
heart of gold too, because come girl scout cookies time; my house is filled
with contraband 🤣. The best thing
about turning into your parents is that you are a special blend of both
individuals. I picked up Big Red’s (mom)
funny personality and pop’s work ethic.
Both personalities have molded me into the gentlemen that is typing this
blog. So, younger generations, if you
reading this do not, I repeat DO NOT, jinx yourself lol. Whether you want to or not we all turn
into some form or our parents and honestly that is not all bad!!

Do not say those words, because it's blasphemy! We are our parents 😆🙄! Guess they aren't so bad after all.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Adulthood!! Where reality kicks in lol.
DeleteYes, I used to always say the same 🤣. Big thanks to pops for giving passing on his gold heart to you 🥰 you’re our best Girl Scout customer for nuts & candy season & cookies lol
ReplyDeleteLol, I will make sure to let him know. Make sure you remind me when selling season starts back up!!
